As event designers, we spend most of our time focusing, listening, and absorbing what our clients envision for their wedding. We hear what they have always dreamed about, what is on their romantic wishlist, and how they see themselves celebrating their special day. It truly is a beautiful experience to collaborate with our clients on their wedding design from start to finish; from concept to reality. We gather the ideas and process the dream through our own ELENA DAMY creative filter, detailing the event design we have created for the client using sketches and drawings as tools to explain the vision. As our lead event designer, as well as our in-house artist, Elena is wonderful at translating the client’s vision onto paper, sketching out everything from the type of table to the style of container and the shape of the floral design. Coupled with photographs of flowers, linens, and furniture, and presented with fabric swatches, ribbon cuttings and other accessory options, a full design storyboard is created for the entire event.

As seen above with Jillian and Jeff’s wedding celebration at One&Only Palmilla, Elena sketched the dinner table centerpieces as well as the wedding ceremony floral arrangements for the beach. Photographs of the table settings, napkin folds, iron candleabras, floating glass globes, hanging candle stanchions, white rose pommanders, and the selection of seasonal flowers were also shared on the inspiration board to tell the entire story of the design. Once approved by our client, the inspiration board is used by our design team to bring the wedding vision to life!

In these lovely photographs taken by the talented Irela Garcia of Photo Style in Cabo, you can see how our event design went from sketch to reality for Jillian and Jeff’s golden yellow, crisp white and soft gray wedding. On the design board we shared the specific types of imported blooms to be used in the floral design, including white roses, freesia, lisianthus, hyacinths, and phalaenopsis orchids, as well as golden yellow freesia, butter cymbidium orchids, and bright yellow roses.

Just as Elena sketched on the design board, each dinner table was created using a white-washed rectangular wood or square fabric-covered table, with a collection of white wood and brown ceramic vases filled with lush floral centerpieces of yellow roses, cymbidium orchids, and white phalaenopsis orchids. Candles of all shapes and sizes were used in abundance throughout, from bronze iron candelabra to large glass hurricanes to floating votives in water to hanging from wires over the dinner tables themselves. Just magical!
