Taste of Mexico Event at The Bridal Bar
We recently had the pleasure of attending “A Taste of Mexico,” an exclusive event hosted by One&Only Palmilla at The Bridal Bar in Los Angeles, California. At the personal invitation of Donald Akin, Director of Group Sales for One&Only Palmilla, the event served as an elegant-but-casual introduction of the luxury resort to Southern California’s “best of the best” wedding planners and event industry professionals. Or, as several event professionals from Los Angeles have produced weddings at Palmilla before, the party also served as a fun way to see old friends.
Elena Damy Floral and Event Design was happy to support our good friends at One&Only Palmilla by not only attending the party, but also by providing the floral decor for the event. Arriving in Los Angeles a day ahead of the event, we had a blast shopping for seasonal blooms and flowering branches at the Los Angeles flower market. Nothing makes us happier than being surrounded by buckets of fragrant flowers! Our host, Harmony Walton, owner and founder of The Bridal Bar, was absolutely wonderful in letting us take over her charming offices with our Mexican-inspired floral arrangements.
We always love partnering with the One&Only Palmilla team, and in this case, once the arrangements were made we were more than happy to have the opportunity to share a cocktail with Mr. Peter Bowling, Managing Director, Cristina Romero-Peri, Executive Director of Sales and Marketing, Donald Akin, Director of Group Sales, and Arianna Ocampo, Wedding Manager. Hardworking and dedicated, the Palmilla team is an inspiration!
In addition to the team from Palmilla, we were thrilled to mix and mingle with Diann Valentine, who we had previously met at Engage!11 at The Grand del Mar in San Diego; Jeff Brown and W. Shay Hammond from Brown Hot Events; Allyson Levine from Bob Gail Special Events; Amber Gustafson from Amber Events; Carolyn Chen from The Special Day, who we have collaborated with on some stunning weddings in Costa Rica and Laguna Beach, California; Julie Hill from Elysium Productions; Alex Hill from Slayleigh James Photography; Carrie Hedge from Yifat Oren & Associates; Nicole Palacios, Editor at Inside Weddings Magazine; Rebecca Crumley, Weddings Photo Director from The Knot; and many more. A few margaritas and many mini fish tacos later, we can safely say it was an awesome event for all! Thanks again Donald and Harmony for hosting us in Los Angeles!
