Where to Propose in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Posted on January 3rd, 2018 by Melissa Paul

Thinking about popping the question in Cabo?

When you want to impress that certain and super special someone in your life with an unforgettable wedding proposal, that means planning not only what bling to buy, but also what memorable location to choose! More and more of our clients are planning their wedding proposals with the intention of making them happen right here in our gorgeous Los Cabos, Mexico! Either while they’re on a dream vacation or because Cabo San Lucas holds special meaning to them, in general. Maybe their getaway weekend as a couple was here, or they met on the beach, or their families have villas side-by-side, who knows? But clearly, this part of Baja California speaks to their hearts. And, with our creative ideas and local know-how on how to propose and where to get engaged, we’re hoping to help more soon-to-get-engaged couples follow suit!

From romantic getaways, spa weekends and picturesque beaches, to scuba-diving and sailing, there’s a proposal opportunity for everyone here in our beloved Cabo San Lucas! Here are a few ideas from our wedding planners to get you thinking…

Where {and How} to Propose in Cabo San Lucas

Why not go snorkeling or scuba diving and take a “Will you marry me?” sign you can show your intended while underwater? Available scuba sites include Anegada, The Point (off Land’s End) and the Lunderberg shipwreck site, La Larga, as well as The Blowhole, Twin Dolphins Reef, Chileno Reef, and Barco Varado. Surprise her while doing something playful and fun!

A romantic dinner proposal is always amazing here in Los Cabos! There are many stunning restaurants to choose from, many with spectacular views to enjoy. But the first place that comes to our planners’ minds is El Farallon Restaurant at The Resort at Pedregal.  The whole resort just feels decadent and delicious, and add the cliffside dining location, with tables perched over the sea with nothing but breathtaking, panoramic views wrapping around you both… trust us, it’s a magical place!

Take a horseback ride! Cuadra San Francisco Equestrian Center is one of the Los Cabos’ most memorable, must-do activities. They offer rail rides over local desert terrain, romantic rides along secluded beaches, carriage rides in Todos Santas, Old Cabo San Lucas, and San Jose del Cabo, as well as riding lessons, and so forth. We love the idea of their two-hour trail ride that takes you through the local hills and canyons, ending on the beach. What a lovely way to dazzle her with a one-of-a-kind experience!

Rent a yacht or sailboat for a long day hopping from one beach and cove to another, making sure to STOP the boat right next to El Arco or in beautiful Chileno Bay or Santa Maria Bay, when you pop the question! Add the sunset as a backdrop, and how could she say no???

Immersing into The Spa at Esperanza is another great romance-friendly option that will transport you both to a whole other level of paradise. Annually ranked as one of the tops spas in Latin America, couples’ treatments are a particular specialty at Esperanza. Sessions can take place in the Spa itself, on the beach, or in the privacy of your own suite. Each session can be crafted to your own level of bliss and may include a variety of mood-enhancing elements, including a massage at side-by-side tables, long soaks in private baths or lounging in oceanfront pools, aromatherapy, and aphrodisiac cocktails. Magic making, that’s what this is. SIGH.

Paddle side-by-side in tandem kayaks or on stand-up paddleboards out to Land’s End and El Arco in the early morning (she’ll never suspect a morning proposal!), with a stop at Lover’s or Monument Beaches for sun, sand, snorkeling, snacks (bring your own) and gorgeous photo opportunities. After 11:00 am the area around Lover’s Beach is busy with motorized boats and jet skies, so going early will keep the romance level right where you want it to be. You may also want to skip Lover’s Beach entirely and head to Medano Beach instead for peaceful paddling all day long.

Let’s Be Honest.

Yes, you can always propose in a beautiful restaurant over a tantalizing meal with “Will you marry me?” written in chocolate on the plate. It’s a beautiful way to ask her to marry you and if that’s what you feel comfortable doing, then DO IT! But here in the luxury resort area that is Los Cabos, Mexico, why not step that up a notch or too? Ask her over dinner, but a dinner ON THE BEACH, with your toes in the sand, with local musicians serenading the bride, and the sun setting over the ocean?

Or, working with our wedding planner Claudia Morales, you could discover there is another way to propose. Perhaps there is another way to create that memory by embracing not only the beauty of Baja, but the personal interests of the intended, and the love story you share? For instance, are you two adventurers who are always on the go and find being on the water together, whether that be sailing, surfing, or scuba diving, the ultimate in date time? Then go with that. Ask her while para-gliding off a boat you rented for the day, or plan to explore the local Baja canyons on four-wheelers with a picnic lunch proposal ready to go. It’s all possible and we are here to help. So let your imagination run wild!

I’m looking for the perfect proposal in Cabo or surrounding areas. Hiring a professional photographer to capture (and maybe help or suggest possible proposal ideas) would be perfect. I really don’t know how or what I should or could do. But we are arriving May 12th and staying through the 16th. I would like to do it early in the trip. Any suggestions would be appreciated as well as fees associated with this. Thank you.
