Floral Gowns, Elie Saab Collection

When we think of classic, romantic red-carpet ready style, we immediately think of Elie Saab.

With his Spring/Summer 2014 Couture Collection, Elie Saab has yet again designed an incredible rainbow of romantic wedding dresses, elegant evening gowns and sexy party frocks. Inspired by the floral paintings of 19th century Dutch master, Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema, Saab created his own homage to spring with his signature beaded embroideries and lace appliqués, as well as more updated plissé designs and empire waists for some much needed modern edge. Flowers of every sort appear throughout the collection in soft peony pinks, rich rose reds and metallic golds. Transparent skirts, hip-high slits and plunging necklines give the collection some added sensuality, but cloaked in Elie Saab’s traditional ladylike style, these sexy embellishments only take the gowns to a more glamorous level.

We loved the whole array of floral-inspired styles, but the short lace dresses in classic bridal white and “something blue” really caught our eye as we could see them worn by our brides at their rehearsal dinners. However, something we have never seen before from the Lebanese designer are the floral prints blended with smokey black in an almost ombre effect. Lovely!

Flowing and feminine, Saab’s new couture collection dazzled his devoted fashion fans from around the world and we simply cannot wait to see how many of our international brides wear Elie Saab at their own wedding celebrations!
