TORO Latin Kitchen & Bar By Richard Sandoval
AS WEDDING PLANNERS HERE IN LOS CABOS we are always asked, and we mean ALWAYS, about local Baja restaurants for rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, after hour gatherings, and Sunday brunch venues. There are many interesting options to recommend from San Jose del Cabo to Todos Santos; however, one place tops our list. TORO Latin Kitchen & GastroBar by globally-celebrated Chef Richard Sandoval.
TORO is spectacularly situated in Punta Ballena, just inside the grounds of the award-winning luxury hotel, Esperanza, an Auberge Resort. Designed by Brazilian architect Arthur Casas, the restaurant is housed in a modern building with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. It is not uncommon to see gray whales breaching from the comfort of your dinner chair. The interior design is modern Mexican, blending exposed steel beams, rustic pottery and polished wood with the earth tones and warmth of the desert surroundings. But think “sleek” when we say “modern” as this is one stylish place. And then there’s the food and drink!
“Across Latin America, food is more than a meal. It’s an event. It’s a celebration that’s shared, savored and enjoyed with the finest spirits.”
For TORO, Chef Richard Sandoval, who owns 40 restaurants around the globe, designed a delicious menu of Pan Latin cuisine with South American, Japanese and Chinese influences. All in small plates to be shared and a ceviche bar to be savored. We happen to love the “suviche” term used for TORO’s ceviche bar as it combines tasty ceviche with gourmet sushi. Paired with one of their hand-crafted cocktails, like their signature Prickly Pear Chilcano made with pisco brandy from Peru, it’s a feast for the senses!
IMAGINE YOUR WELCOME PARTY OR REHEARSAL DINNER in any one of the spaces. The dramatic, spacious central bar and outdoor lounge areas are perfect for welcome cocktail parties for your wedding, or an after hours party when the wedding is over and you want to keep celebrating. The Salon Dining Room is an excellent spot for a sit down rehearsal dinner where toasts and roasts can be heard. There are so many ways to enjoy the entire restaurant for your special event! We love TORO so much that we hosted Elena’s birthday party here! When you come to Cabo for your venue site inspections, we’ll make sure to visit this amazing Baja restaurant! Cheers!

Good Morning. I recently got engaged. We are looking to do something in Cabo on the beach. It will be us and our 4 children only, this is a second marriage for both of us. I would like the wedding on/near the water, a dinner on/near the water and amazing pictures:). Do you help with something this small?
