Wedded Bliss at Chileno Bay Resort
Wedded Bliss at Chileno Bay
A year ago we were celebrating a whole weekend of wedded bliss for Melissa and Tommy! First, with a Rehearsal Dinner on the beach at Hacienda Cocina, which was a stylish coastal affair where all the guests wore white but the bride and groom wore red! (okay, Tommy wore red shoes.) Then, on the wedding day itself, the bride and groom enjoyed an on-trend, soft and romantic, Baja wedding at the super chic Chileno Bay Resort & Residences. Together with our wedding planning team, Melissa and Tommy planned an entire weekend of fashionable festivities to share with family and friends! Take a look below at their wedding story…
Bridal Styling
Creative Director, Elena Damy, designed a beautiful all-white, hand-tied bridal bouquet for Melissa to carry using just three flowers: freesia, roses, and phalaenopsis orchids. Along with her sexy metallic platform sandals, chandelier earrings, and chapel veil, Melissa was a vision of bridal style!
First Look {of Love}
As we shared in a previous blog post, Melissa and Tommy chose to see each other on the wedding day in a private “first look” photo session at Chileno Bay. Everything about it was captivating, scenic, and sentimental. Having this special time to absorb the real emotion of the day, sets up the rest of the celebration. In our humble opinions. It all starts here… with a look, a shared smile and usually, tears of joy!
Marchesa Magic
We absolutely loved Melissa’s wedding gown by Marchesa! From every angle, with or without the custom-made lace capelet, her gown was a show-stopper! Sadly, we don’t know who provided Tommy with his suiting, but he looked mighty fine too!
A Ceremony on the Beach at Chileno
For their oceanfront wedding ceremony, we laid out the setting facing the waves, using dark wood flooring, a raised stage, and our modern wooden canopy structure. On the canopy, or chuppah, we added gauzy ivory drapes in an asymmetrical fashion and anchored the design with a large, lush display of ivory flowers and greenery. Our modern black lanterns were places at the base of the chuppah, and along the aisle, for added atmosphere. Dark wood chairs with ivory cushions provided comfortable seating for the couple’s guests. From there it was all romance and emotion, as you can see!
A Romantic Dinner Setting
In her creative role as wedding designer, Elena sought out stylish ways to bring the bride and groom’s vision to life. Since beauty is not just what you see, each detail of the space was designed to elevate the mood and atmosphere. Right down to the music that greeted guests as they moved from party space to the reception area. Encouraging togetherness, Elena used a mixture of round and rectangular dinner tables, all placed close to each other to share the easy energy from table to table. From there, Elena and her floral team layered creamy flowers, neutral textiles, metallic hurricanes, taupe macrame, and distressed mirror votive candles throughout. Including, suspending stems of open roses from the ceiling along with modern copper lanterns! It was a warm, inviting environment reflecting the fashion-forward couple’s natural style.
Celebrating Love
From the moment Melissa and Tommy entered the dining room, the champagne began to flow, toast after toast was given, and the celebration took on a life of its own. We love seeing that shift, when the wedding changes from a schedule and a proposal to a living, breathing, family gathering. One that included love-filled dances with dad, mom, and, of course, each other. Their first as husband and wife. And then the hora began and no one could stay seated! Everyone was up and dancing, and then up, up, up! on the chairs went Melissa and Tommy!
Swirls of Love
Nothing like ending the wedding reception on a sweet note! We loved this variegated gray and metallic gold “marble style” wedding cake designed by Sweet Dreams Cabo. It was stacked to perfection!
Happy Anniversary Melissa and Tommy!
