A Romantic Chapel Wedding
As you can imagine, “Thank You” can be an incredibly powerful pair of words and we never tire of hearing them. After investing months or years designing an event, there is nothing better than hearing glowing, positive feedback from our client on how they experienced the event. We want to know if we nailed it! Did we achieve the intended goal? Were they blown away by the environment we created for them? Did they notice all the special details? What did they hear about the most from their guests? Did we bring their dream to life? Did we create magic, if only for one day? And, of course, would they they want to work with us again on their next event? Nothing says “job well done” more clearly than repeat business and making that connection with a family is what we strive for every day at ELENA DAMY.
Well, here’s a story we are proud to share of just such a connection. Just three years ago we decorated the wedding of Brooks Jacobsen, the lovely daughter of Steve and Susan. Held at the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort, Nate and Brooks’ beach wedding was an experience we remember fondly. Fast forward to a year ago, while designing another client’s wedding in Seattle, we received a phone call from Steve sharing the happy news that his other daughter Westin had just gotten engaged. He also wanted to confirm that ELENA DAMY was available to provide the event design for the wedding before he secured the gorgeous One&Only Palmilla as the venue. After our call, in which I shared that we would be delighted to provide floral decor for Westin’s wedding, Steve sent me this email:
“Hello Carlos, I am under contract with One&Only Palmilla for May 24, 2014. What do I need to do to secure your services for our daughter’s wedding? I want to make sure we have your wonderful team taking care of the entire event. We are having the ceremony and reception on the South Beach, dinner in the Bahia Courtyard and we have bought out the Agua Bar from 10 to 1:00am. I know we have plenty of time, just want to make sure we are on your books.”
Needless to say, while straightforward on the one hand, having a client regard our event design services in such an important way is extremely emotional! Over the past year we have had the pleasure of working with Steve and Susan again, to produce Westin and Ryan’s dream wedding at our home-away-from-home, the One&Only Palmilla. We are thrilled to share their wedding with you here in this blog post as seen through the excellent photography work of our friends at Alec & T Photography.
After Westin and Ryan’s wedding this past May, we sent the Steve an email thanking him for letting us add our “special touch” to an already incredible day for the bridal couple, and this was his reply:
“Hi, Carlos. The wedding turned out perfect!! You and Elena did a magnificent job, everyone was amazed with the flowers. Most important, Westin and Ryan loved everything you did as did Susan and I. The chapel was great but what you did for the dinner on the tables was incredible. Can’t thank you enough for all your help with both my daughters’ weddings. I knew you and Elena would make it magical. Take care. Steve Jacobsen.”
And there you have it. A simple “Thank You” that makes it all worthwhile and the reason we do what we do. The entire Jacobsen family is adorable, and it was a pleasure and a true honor to work with them. (twice!)
