From the Church to the Mango Grove

Kathryn and Peter’s wedding in Cabo San Lucas was pure joy! As you can see from their wedding photos below, before the ceremony at their private villa, during their church ceremony and all throughout their day, laughter was flowing in abundance! It was beautiful to see and completely contagious to be around!

See for yourself in their real wedding story below…

Wedding Day Glow

Kathryn’s smile was luminous from the moment she began her bridal preparations. Her minimalist wedding gown was beach elegant paired with chunky pearls and a long, wispy veil. And the bold, tropical patterned bridesmaids’ gowns were simply stunning! Kathryn carried a monochromatic bridal bouquet of creamy white double tulips and her bridesmaids carried posies designed with fragrant freesia and tulips.

Fun, Fun, and More Fun

A bride and groom who keep each other, and everyone else, laughing – that’s Kathryn and Peter! It’s easy to see why we fell in love with this couple as they were too much fun to collaborate with! And their faces just lit up when they looked at each other. (or dissolved into giggles). Their first look (below) went from sentimental to hilarity in a heartbeat! And, even during their Catholic church ceremony at the San Jose del Cabo Church, laughter reigned supreme on the altar!

A Mariachi Recessional

As the bride and groom made their way down the aisle and out of the church, Mariachis could be heard! Time to celebrate! The bridal party, families, and other wedding guests were invited to make their way to the wedding reception venue, Acre Baja, to get the party started! But first, a photo with everyone on the steps of the church…

Under the Mango Grove

As the guests made their way to Acre Baja, the party location, Team Elena Damy was hard at work putting the final touches on the event decor!

Set in the middle of the mango grove on spectacular tile floors, the event design was inspired by the lush tropical landscape around Acre Baja. The event floorplan was created in a standard U-shape using the dance floor and bandstand as the focal point for the setup. The dinner tables were rectangular in shape, with the bridal party table opposite the stage. The tables were woven through the mango orchard and vintage lights were strung from tree to tree for a soft, festive vibe.

Finessing the Finer Details

Creative Director, Elena Damy, finesses the finer details of the table settings right up until the guests walked into the reception area. She created a wedding design using our custom-designed wooden tables mixed with other tables draped in soft linens. The settings themselves included our contemporary wooden chargers, which reflected back to the stylish decor of the venue. Placed on each place setting was a white double tulip. The floral centerpieces were composed in glass vases and compotes for a light, airy look with white roses, scabiosa, double tulips, hellebores, and palm fronds.

The overall look was soft and elegant, but modern in approach.

Cocktails by the Pool

While the bridal party and families snapped some formal photos around the lush grounds, their guests enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres and cocktails around the pool.

Palm Frond Placecards

Place cards were suspended on our brand and palm frond display at the edge of the dinner dance area. Guests stopped to grab their seating assignments on their way from cocktails at the pool to dinner in the mango grove.

Setting the Scene

Timed to perfection by our Team Elena Damy wedding planners, guests arrived at their dinner tables after the sun had set and all the strung lights glowed! The perfect way to set the mood for a celebration! And from that point on, it was all laugher, smiles, good food, more laughter, more good food, one toast after another! One moment to the next.

Cheers to Kathryn and Peter! May you have many joyful, playful, happy years together!

Love, Team Elena Damy
