Weddings at Chileno Bay Resort Cabo Event Designers

If you’ve never heard of Chileno Bay Resort & Residences, then sit back and get comfortable as there is much to share about this spectacular Cabo hotel! Particularly if you are looking for an amazing resort experience for your upcoming destination wedding, special event or corporate retreat.

To start with, Chileno Bay Resort & Residences is beautifully positioned along a protected cove complete with pristine coral reefs and tranquil aqua blue waters. Truly, it’s PARADISE with a capital “P”! In fact, the contemporary resort was designed specifically to marry a modern luxury experience with Los Cabos’ premier beach location, taking into consideration each and every view of the water and surrounding landscape.  As a wedding designer and event planner here in Los Cabos, where knowing each available hotel, villa, and resort are a “must” for the job, having Chileno Bay Resort to collaborate with is a dream come true… and you’ll agree after the tour below. Enjoy!

Ten reasons I LOVE the Chileno Bay Resort & Residences!

Chileno offers a scenic view of Chileno Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in Los Cabos! It’s stunning all day long, but watching the sun rise right in front of the hotel’s main beach is unforgettable and worth getting up for! When staying at Chileno Bay Resort, hotel guests enjoy the use of two gorgeous beaches…  the public beach that neighbors the resort, as well as the private beach right in front of the hotel pool.

Wedding Ceremony Locations on the Beach

If you’re also looking for a breathtaking wedding ceremony spot, right on the water, the hotel also offers an outdoor area, on the rocks just above the beach, which is perfect for an intimate wedding of 30 guests. If you have more than thirty guests than you can use the hotel’s wooden deck space at the end of the infinity pool or, bringing it back to beaches, why not exchange your vows right on the resort’s PRIVATE BEACH!?

Let’s talk food and beverage, and the magic makers behind the menus, as the food at Chileno Bay is creative, delicious and perfectly presented. All of which is attributable to their amazing team of culinary professionals. At the head of that team is Yvan Mucharraz (on the far right in the photo above). An expert in contemporary and traditional Mexican cuisine, Executive Chef Yvan Mucharraz is responsible for culinary operations and development at Chileno Bay Resort and Residences. He’s got a resume that lists one luxury resort after another on it, meaning, he’s renown for his imaginative menus and the best way to present them. On more than one occasion, Chef Mucharraz has blown us away with his creative interpretation of modern, Latin-inspired menus. In fact, the first wedding menu tasting we attended at Chileno was so incredible, our clients left their tasting ready to get married right then and there!

Culinary Excellence at Chileno

As the hotel’s Pastry Chef, Devin McDavid, (seen above on the far left), offers sweets for any occasion that are simple and rustic, with influences from Italian, French and Japanese cuisine. He not only honed his sweet skills in many famous kitchens around the world but also learned how to cater to brides and grooms from his aunt’s wedding catering business in his native Trinidad.

Famous Mixologist on Staff

Chileno’s Beverage Manager, also known as the head mixologist in many circles, is Osvaldo Vazquez. Never without a smile on his face (see above, center), Osvaldo ranks in the top 3 mixologists in Los Cabos. He loves his job so much his enthusiasm is infectious! Vazquez prides himself on using seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients. His own line of Mexican aged bitters, Bitter and Barrel, is carried in high-end bars around the world, from Paris to Tokyo.

When Osvaldo is taking care of you, at an event, by the pool, or at your wedding tasting, he not only tells you what ingredients he used in the cocktail but also the inspiration he had to create it. Trust us when we say, when selecting a drink or two to use as your signature cocktail, you’ll have a very challenging time choosing as they are all amazing!

Chileno Bay is an Auberge Resort, which means, their staff is very well-trained and super-friendly. Not only do they make you feel at home, in an elegant-yet-casual manner, but they make it seem easy at the same time. And, they treat everyone, whether a registered guest at the resort, or a wedding planner on property for the day, the same. The hotel staff genuinely and effortlessly make our lives as event planners much easier, something we appreciate more than they will ever know! No matter how challenging the situation or tight the timeframe.

Chileno Bay Resort planned their hotel very well indeed as they carefully considered how and where to hold events on the property. There is more than one option for a wedding ceremony – beaches, terraces, patios, and ballrooms. There are also several on-site locations for cocktail receptions and wedding dinner dance celebrations. Oh, and did we mention that Chileno is the first luxury resort in Los Cabos to offer a beachfront ballroom!?! Yes, it’s true. And, the ballroom has a large terrace named the Galleria which also overlooks the Sea of Cortez. Amazing, right?

Beachfront Ballroom & Cocktail Party Area

Oh, and wait, there’s more! In addition to the beachfrot ballroom space, Chileno also has a patio right in front of the ballroom where you can arrange cocktail tables or a living room style lounge. Depending on the event design or party purpose, you can host a welcome party in the patio for more than 100 people, or why not use it for a smaller wedding celebration? The options are many and that makes Chileno a Grade A property in our book.

Chileno Bay Resort & Residences offers multiple spacious, three-bedroom villas designed in a modern-but-approachable style. Perfect for the bride and groom, the parents of the bride and groom, and for hosting smaller wedding events around the main celebration. There are buildings on the ground level that offer a three-bedroom villa on the 1st floor with its own pool, or, with a villa on the 2nd floor with its own jacuzzi. Each villa is equipped with a full kitchen, laundry facilities and luxury appliances. If you want expansive views from up high, there are also three and four-bedroom Sky View Villas located on the top floor of the resort. Each offers spectacular ocean views as well as private pools.

Six Bedroom Villa – Brisa del Mar

My personal favorite is the gorgeous six-bedroom villa, and the only one of its kind in all of Los Cabos, called the Brisa del Mar villa.  With its own swimming pool and jacuzzi, as seen above, as well as its fire pit overlooking the sea, a media room, and oh-so-much-more, it’s ideal for a private birthday or anniversary celebration, or for an intimate wedding under 20 people. The Brisa del Mar villa is extremely private and is intentionally set apart from the rest of the resort.

The Auberge Spa at Chileno Bay Resort is one of the best in Los Cabos due to its peaceful design, thoughtful treatments, and holistic approach to wellness. I can blissfully recall my own experience in the Chileno Spa. Their Head to Toe treatment — consisting of a 90-minute full body massage, a scalp treatment, a foot exfoliation, and a reflexology foot massage — was life changing for this always-on-my-feet event planner! Prior to the treatment, I was invited to enjoy the spa journey from a visit to the steam room, to the ice treatment, the Himalaya salt room, an immersion in the cold water pool followed by an immersion in the warm water pool, all designed to cleanse and prepare the body before the treatment. After my treatment, I was invited to rest in the private lounge area or take a walk on the stones in their Reflexology Pool. Truly restorative on every level, and an experience I highly recommend to all our clients.

Couple Spa Experience in Cabo

One of the best ways to reconnect is with a couples spa experience. Chileno Bay’s spa offers a private suite in a gorgeous garden, just for the two of you! It includes a steam room, outdoor shower, soaking tub, fireplace, and lounge… and from what our clients have said, the “Thai for Two” treatment is a game-changer before your wedding whirlwind weekend begins…

Once you are restored and nurtured back to a more peaceful sense of self in the Spa, a visit to the Beauty Lounge just across the way offers a fun, social setting for nails, hair and makeup services right on property!

When you come to Cabo for your destination wedding or event, you’ve got to get on the water! At Chileno Bay Resort, you’re in the right place too! In addition to lounging on the two beaches, you are invited to enjoy their 150-yard swimming pool! Divided into three sections, with the last pool right on the Sea of Cortez! But if lounging poolside isn’t all you want to do, Chileno offers the largest range of water sport activities in Cabo! Including paddle boarding, snorkeling, water bicycling, a floating water amusement park, deep sea fishing, and kayaking. They even organize beach volley games and other group activities due to their primo beach location. All of the above make the resort perfect for kid-friendly, family vacations as well as when you invite friends and family to join you for your wedding, the whole family needs to play!

9) TnT on the Beach!

TnT stands for Tacos and Tequila! And, is Chileno Bay Resort’s playful-but-super-tasty taco bar on the beach. It’s small but mighty in every way, and everything about it screams FUN! From the delicious, locally-inspired taco menu to the crazy fun cocktails! Happy hour is a blast, with games, sing-a-longs and lottery-style antics that keep guests bellying up to the bar. It’s one of our favorite places for a welcome to Cabo party!

None of this fabulousness noted above in nos. 1-9 would be possible without the visionary leadership of the resort’s Hotel Manager, Marco Bustamante. His impressive background includes stints at The Russian Tea Room and at Thomas Keller’s Michelin three-starred Per Se, both in New York, as well as with the Capella Hotel Group where he joined Capella Pedregal as Executive Chef and later became their Director of Food and Beverage before taking on General Manager duties at Capella Washington, D.C. Now leading the way at Chileno as Hotel Manager, Mr. Bustamante has a fresh vision for the resort that includes a gracious standard of service that extends to everyone who steps foot on the property. We’ve seen him in action! When facing challenges, Mr. Bustamante stays calm and gets to work solving the problem, working with his team to overcome obstacles with aplomb.

With Gratitude

I can say with gratitude that his leadership was instrumental in creating an unforgettable experience for a recent clients’ wedding held at Chileno. In a word, “flexibility” was the order of the day! Mr. Bustamante’s management vision inspires and supports everyone in bringing luxury to an entirely different level here in Los Cabos!

My top 10 reasons to love Chileno Bay Resort & Residences! Of course, there is so much more to this unique hotel. But to discover them all requires a trip to Cabo San Lucas to experience them first hand. So, when are you coming to Cabo?
