GIVE YOUR GUESTS THE GIFT OF BAJA

As a small business, we do our very best to support other small local businesses here in Baja, as well as the overall Mexican economy. Which is why we carefully research local shops and artisan studios for unique and artful products that serve our event designs, but also for welcome bag gift ideas, wedding favors, bridal party gifts, and other creative projects. Here’s one of our more recent finds you should know about when planning your destination wedding or special event in Los Cabos.

TUCKED BETWEEN THE ART GALLERIES

Deep in the heart of historic San Jose del Cabo, you’ll find the sweetest of gift shops, Shima Shima. With a giant red heart sign hanging over the door, it’s nigh impossible to avoid the pull of popping into this adorably stylish boutique. Not only does Shima Shima retail items handmade by Mexicans, whether in Baja or Mainland Mexico, but most are one-of-a-kind treasures that proudly showcase the traditional folk art Mexico is known for around the world. There’s also a healthy dose of contemporary designs available in store, like brightly colored beach blankets that double as pareos, modern hand-forged metal jewelry, as well as the ultra chic Acapulco Chair.

COLOR US INSPIRED

As wedding planners, we see countless fun ways many of these gifts can play a part in your Los Cabos wedding, from embroidered bags for bridesmaids to sexy beach cover-ups for your honeymoon. Or, maybe Mexican straw hats to be offered to guests at the ceremony, or a painted-heart woven tote for a welcome bag they can carry home. When you’re next in Baja, let’s go shopping together at Shima Shima and see what we can put together!

    Hi There,
I visited your store today and it was closed. I was wondering how much is the straw bag with the heart stamp on It? Also the large pom pom? Look forward to hear from you soon. Thanks. Lydia
